  • Dear ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the performance of legends about King Arthur.

Scene 1. King Arthur gets married

Merlin and Arthur are on the stage. They talk about Guinevere.

Narrator: The time comes when King Arthur decides to marry.

Merlin: The king should have the wife. The kingdom needs the queen. Is there any lady that you love?

King Arthur: Guinevere is the most beautiful lady in the world! I want to marry her.

Merlin: I can see dark future for you and her.

King Arthur: I love her very much! She is the most courageous and fairest lady that I know, or yet that I could ever find.

Merlin: Well then. I accept your decision.

Merlin goes away.

Scene 2. King Arthur asks King Leodegrance to marry Guinevere

King Leodegrance comes.

King Arthur: King Leodegrance, I love your daughter very much and I want to marry her.

King Leodegrance: This is the best news I have heard! I am proud that such a noble and brave king wants to marry my daughter.

 

Scene 3. King Arthur and Guinevere’s wedding

There are a lot of knights and people on the stage. King Arthur and Guinevere are in the middle.

Narrator: Now the wedding day comes and the Archbishop arrives at Camelot to marry King Arthur and Princess Guinevere

Archbishop: Do you swear to love each other till the end of your life?

King Arthur and Guinevere: (all together) Yes, we do!

People: Long live King Arthur and Queen Guinevere!

Narrator: King Leodegrance gave King Arthur the Round Table. It had places for 150 knights.

Scene 4. Arthur and the knights make up the rules of the Round Table

There is a Round Table on the scene. Knights and King Arthur stand near it.

King Arthur: This Round Table is the King Leodegrance’s gift. We should make up the rules for the Knights of the Round Table.

Sir Bedivere: Do not beat or murder anybody.

Sir Lancelot: Do not commit a crime against your country or king.

Sir Gawain: Do not be cruel. Give mercy to those who ask, even in battle.

Knight 1: The knight must promise to help women if they need it.

Knight 2: Never “harm” women.

Knight 3: Do not join in fights over anything less than god or country.

 

Scene 5. Two more knights arrive at the court

Narrator: One day a strange girl comes to the great hall of the castle.

The girl comes up to Sir Lancelot.

Girl: Sir Lancelot, come with me! It’s very important. I cannot tell you more. Please, follow me.

Narrator: Sir Lancelot follows the girl to the forest. They stop at a church. There he sees a nun and a young boy.

Sir Lancelot follows the girl. There they see a nun and a young boy.

The nun: Sir Lancelot, we bring you this young man. He is loyal and courageous. Please, make him a knight.

Sir Lancelot: Good, I will take him to the court.

Narrator: The next day, Lancelot returns to Camelot with the young knight.

 

Scene 6. King Arthur greets two new knights

Sir Lancelot: My dear king! I have brought to you this young man. His name is Galahad. He is very loyal and courageous.

Galahad: It will be honor for me to serve for my King. I promise to serve you faithfully and honestly.

Morgana Le Fay appears on the stage. She wears the clothes of a holy woman. She brings a young man with her.

Morgana Le Fay: I am Morgana of Glastonbury. I bring a squire to your court. I hope he will become a knight. His name is Mordred.  

Mordred: I swear to do only great and good deeds!

King Arthur: Welcome to Camelot, Sir Galahad and Sir Mordred!
